The Delaware Japanese Cultural Center Society, Kiyo Mizu Kai, is a community-
based, not-for-profit, charitable organization that provides programs and events to
share Japan's unique culture and heriatage to people of all ages, ethnic groups

May 3, 2008 - Friendship Workout Day - Thank you for all who participated in
this year’s Friendship Workout Day. After an enjoyable Aikido workout, the
children made and flew their own kites which they personalized with their artwork.
They were then treated to a colorful lunch with a Japanese twist for the
adventurous, with a backup of the more traditional Bagel Bites and some Dinosaur
shaped chicken nuggets of course! The menu consisted of Teriyaki Chicken
Wings, Mini Rice Balls, Edamame, Pocky, Cupcakes, and Watermelon. Lessons
on rice ball making were also offered to those who wanted to try. We look forward
to having this event again next year. Thank you to the Aikido Delaware Aikikai
Dojo for co-sponsoring this event with Kiyo Mizu Kai. If you have any questions,
ideas, or want to volunteer your time, please contact us! Lorri
April 13, 2008 - Sakura Sunday - A group of us carpooled over to the beautiful
Fairmount Park Horticultural Center in PA for their Sakura Sunday celebration. It
was a beautiful day and the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. We enjoyed taiko
drumming, dancing and martial arts demonstrations. We plan to go there again
next year around the same time. Maybe you'll be able to join us. Lorri
